Precision Bikes 5th Anniversary

Mark and Michelle Miller

This was a party for my dear friend and
founder/owner of Precision Bikes, Mark!

It was the 5th Anniversary of Precision-
Bikes!
Many athletes of which some had been closely involved in the start of Precision Bikes were at hand to congratulate Mark Miller on the fine job he has done, building this up to one of the best bike shops in the South! Mark has played a significant role in my life for over 15 years now. Not just as a friend, but also as a mentor, coach, superb athlete and
encourager.

First visit to LSU Baseball at the new Alex Box

Thanks to Blake David, who provided us with awesome tickets/seats,
(3 rows up behind LSU Dug Out)!!

It made for a wonderful Saturday evening and everything complied, weather, traffic and the Tigers, whom behind great pitching squeezed out a 10th inning victory!

BATON ROUGE -- LSU shortstop Austin Nola delivered a game-winning RBI single in the top of the 10th inning to break a 2-2 tie and lead the second-ranked Tigers past Baylor, 3-2, in Game 4 of the NCAA Baton Rouge Regional Saturday night in Alex Box Stadium.

Brooks B15 Swallow Titanium

In 1866 J.B. Brooks moved from the small town of Hinckley to Birmingham with £20 in his pocket. He established himself as a dealer in General Leather Goods under the name of J.B. Brooks & Co. The firm was only making steady progress until something happened in 1878. Mr Brooks had been in the habit of riding a horse to and from his business, but this horse died. Mr Brooks felt he could not afford to buy another horse, so a friend lent him a bicycle to make the journey.

This introduced J.B. Brooks to cycling, but he found it so uncomfortable that he vowed he would make something more comfortable for the rider to sit on. On 28th October 1882, John Boultbee Brooks filed his first patent on “Saddles for Bicycles and Tricycles”.

The rest, as they say, is history.

Week-End-Beginning

The weekend is well behind us. It was a relaxed and fun weekend, with some good food and some cycling. Saturday morning resulted in a beautiful weather ride of about 50 miles, the Merlin rode like a whisper! A new experience for me was to be stung by a wasp during a ride... Stings like hell! He hit me top front of my left leg ad reminded me most of the day, where the encounter took place! Saturday night we went out to dinner with friends, (Eric and Shannon) at Mazen's Grill. The 'fish of the day' was Sea Bass, which means 'heaven' for me. Some grilled asparagus on the side completed an awesome combination, which followed the sauteed softshell crab (appetizer). Sunday morning rain started to move in, but Eric and I got 40 miles in before it came down. To my surprice I got stung by a wasp once more, this time top front of my right leg! What are the chances of such happening? I should've gotten a lottery ticket that same day... Sunday afternoon the Farrah Fawcett documentary took center stage for Karen and I. It is a blessing to see her fighting spirit, her increasing faith and as the end nears, her seemingly peace full surrender.
It just goes to show, "Tomorrow is promised to no-one."
We better make today the best day of our life, never know what lies ahead!
