Busy times....

Well it has been quite a week! A new secretary at my clinic, which requires a lot of extra time on my behalf in respect to training and supervising.
Then, I finally gave in to the temptation of bringing in a new laptop; a Sony vgn-txn25n, a sweet little and light (2.8 lbs) puppy to be easily carried around the house or on the road.

I got a steal of a deal at Best Buy, ($799.-) however this deal came with the necessary headaches... such as unloading the ' ARCHIE ' software, dumped on the machine by Best Buy.
At any rate a long story short, a couple of trips to the store later, I am working on this cheapo, with a grin on my face, about the width of this laptop!

Karen and I spend most of our Saturday at our church , Trinity Bible Church, where Jon Grissom with 'Walk thru the Bible' took us on a 'birds flight' through the Old Testament. It was very enlightening, giving us a framework historically and geographically, that will make it easier to work through this tough part of the bible.

"Within the covers of the Bible are all the answers for all the problems men face. The Bible can touch hearts, order minds and refresh souls." -Ronald Reagan

The coming week ought to be a 'walk in the park'.

We'll be watching the Tigers open the season at Mississippi State on Thursday, celebrating Karen's birthday on Friday and then enjoying a long Labor Day weekend.

This morning the Advocate stated that MikeVI has arrived at LSU, but it is still too soon to tell whether the formal introduction will be at the first home game vs Virginia Tech....

Go Tigers....

Go Cubs.......
Go Red Sox.....

The history of skates.....

The Dutch continue to be very innovative! The pictures do tell what a long way we have come.To come up with new aerodynamic designs to improve the speed these days requires top of the line education, expertise and experience...
I can't tell you enough how proud I am of my Dutch heritage and just hope that we in the U.S. are keeping up. Please forgive me for the Dutch commentary in the video clip (wooden shoe), translation will be available per request, (if needed).

Broken Crown.....

So here we are, fresh with another crown! After we had an enjoyable sushi experience, I thought to do the right thing: Clean space between teeth with a toothpick. Funny they call these little sticks that way, because that's exactly what it did. It picked my old crown apart!
I went in this morning and after an hour in the dentist chair and spending 'give or take' $1000 I am back in business. The las time this happened was in Edinburgh, Scotland just 2 days shy of Niels and Ali's wedding. That time it was a rock hard mint that did the job, ( Niels even warned me before I tested the validity of his warning....). I learned this morning that the average lifespan of a crown is about 15 years, so after 18 1/2 years I got my moneys worth......

Beating the heat!!!

It was the second time around that Karen and I went see this movie and both of us enjoyed it tremendously again. It was amazing how many details I missed in the first viewing!
In my opinion the Ultimatum is an awesome 'crown' in bringing Identity and Supremacy to a great conclusion. Having said that, I wouldn't mind seeing the books 'The Bourne Legacy' and 'The Bourne Betrayal' by Eric van Lustbader being turned into movies as well.
Especially Ultimatum is action packed from the moment the film starts and takes you around the world, while you stay on the edge of your seat.... until the very end, (that's when I got up).
Today we are staying in, with temperatures topping 100 degrees easily.

I am enjoying the development of blogs in the family and would like to thank Cameron and Eric for such a great initiative and ongoing encouragement!

It seems yesterday we had Sienna coming into this world two years ago.....
