Ziva
After two failed attempts to rescue a German Shepherd, (GSD), from two different organizations,
(The 1st one because the owner had a change of mind, the 2nd one the owner claimed the dog before we could pick her up...), we finally decided to go with a puppy GSD.
(The 1st one because the owner had a change of mind, the 2nd one the owner claimed the dog before we could pick her up...), we finally decided to go with a puppy GSD.
Ziva was born March 7th. There were 8 pups in the litter of which one passed away.
Both parents of Ziva are AKC registered, working K9 dogs.
We got to meet both parents, they are great looking dogs with good size and coloring.
As you can tell from viewing the pictures, Ziva is mostly black, with brown feet and some small brown markings on her face. So far she has been great at our house, playing with our Pug Bruno and our Russian Blue cat Zhivago. It has been 15+ years since I raised a puppy, my miniature Schnauzer Sammy...
Found out quick though, I need to have eyes in the back of my skull!
More pics and posts to follow...

King Willem Alexander
Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands abdicated today, handing over to the
crown to her eldest son,
Willem-Alexander, who at 46, became the first
King of the Netherlands in over 120 years.
The 75-year-old looked close
to tears as her eldest son kissed her after the ceremony on the balcony
at the Royal Palace in Amsterdam, overlooking 20,000 of her former
subjects.

Hr. Ms. van Galen Far East Racing Team 1973
These are two video clips I just now found on a site in Holland.
Unfortunately they are very short, without sound.
Though they might give you some idea of what Hr. Ms. van Galen looked like,
during the world trip to the Far East in 1973.
Hard to believe this is already 40 years ago..........

Festival International Lafayette, LA
Gaywynn and I enjoyed our first night of Festival International yesterday!
Surely the highlight of the evening was Trombone Shorty from New Orleans.
Trombone phenom, Troy "Trombone Shorty" Andrews,
fronts for one of the most energetic group of funksters to ever slip slide out of the Big Easy.

Rouleur 37
It has been quite a while since I've had the pleasure of holding a printed issue of the phenomenal Rouleur. Thanks to my friend Angiographer, who received a replacement of this damaged issue, I once more enjoyed the fabulous smell and awesome photography along with great articles of Rouleur.
Last year I switched to the digital version of Rouleur on my iPad...
It just isn't the same!
Thanks again Angiographer for this treat!!
I might have to subscribe again..... ;)
